2020 Vs 2013

Although we are in 2020, in Ethiopia it's 2013 as the Ethiopian calendar is similar to the Julian Calendar...here is a 2019 blog Rahel G wrote about "Branding Through Time".

" As an Ethiopian born North American woman, I always found it interesting that I grew up celebrating two Christmas dates, two New Years and two Easters aside from the many Saint days in between. As a toddler in North America, I had a chance to participate at many Halloween “trick-or-treatings” and during Valentine’s day, I had the privilege to be pampered as in the fairy tales. In my later years, I researched about calendars, time and civilizations and when New Year 2011 was around the corner, I wrote about our perception of Time in my annual message that I used to send my friends and colleagues. After talking to my hairdresser about January 7th being another Christmas day that we will celebrate, I was inspired to revive the message within the branding concept as “Branding Through Time”. Although in my blog I have referenced scientific studies including the scientific definition of time being “a continuous, measurable quantity in which events occur in a sequence proceeding from the past through the present to the future”, this blog is about how time has been a cultural brand." Read More

Branding Water

If you are wondering why we started with Water, let us put it to rest. Water futures is set to join the likes of gold and oil and trade on Wall Street for the first time ever.

" While water will officially join the likes of gold, oil, and other commodities in being traded on Wall Street, the contracts will be financially settled. This means buyers of the contracts who hold on through expiration won't be greeted by a delivery of millions of gallons of water like they would for other commodity based futures like oil and grain."
